Printing Judging and scoring recap sheets

Post by Reubski3 »

Hi, I am a waterski scorer from Toronto, Ontario and I am scoring provincials and easterns. At a recent tournament, I printed the judging sheets for the boat judge and tower judges to write down scores and boat speed. Also I did that for the scorers. The boxes in which you write down the bouy count and boat speed and time, is very small and it is very difficult to keep it in the boxes (they have to keep the pencil very sharp) which is not ideal. Are you able to maybe make the boxes larger (even if that means less stuff fits on the page) so it is easier to read and write the scores down. I have attached the scoring free speed sheet that is one of the formats I am talking about. The formats that I think are a little bit too small are...
Slalom Judge form, Free speed
Slalom Calculation form, Free Speed
Slalom Boat judge Form, Free speed
And the same for jump as well if possiple. Please let me know if any of this is possible because it is much easier to not write down names and such.

Reuben

Hi Reuben,

Yes, you are right: the boxes are too small...
There is no option nor setting to change that in the program.

I am using a generic way to print all forms (start lists, results), and it is based on a portrait form.
I suppose the best way to solve that problem, is to redesign those forms on a landscape based form, with bigger boxes...

I will see what I can do, but cannot promise anything done for the next month, as I am quite busy at the moment,
and that change requires some programming.

Thanks for the feed back:
only with that kind of feed back can I improve the software.

Regards,
Emmanuel

Thanks. That would be great when you have a chance. Whenever I have a mini problem with the program that could be changed I will message you. And is your name Emanual, just because this forum is kind of like an electornic manual.

I just had another thought. When choosing the classification method, it is a little confusing with all of the choices, especialy for overall(not the overall table). By the way, how often is the official database updated as well as the skier database.

Yes, it might be confusing...
But I don't know how to represent all options in a simpler way...
how often is the official database updated as well as the skier database
- The official database is NOT updated anymore, as the competition should be created through EMS and imported into the scoring software.
Official list inside is outdated (at least 5or 6 years old).

- The skier database is still updated with the regular software update, as the EMS does not provide (yet) the ranking data (seeding and best performance per age category).
That will change in the near future.

Hi again,

I did manage to add some forms in landscape format, with enlarged boxes for the forms you mentioned.
The next update should contains that.

The update is now online.
Please check and test the new landscape forms (the portrait ones are still there).

It is a little bit better!!!! the boxes I think could be a little bit bigger but it is a huge inproovement. Are you able to make the boxes bigger while keeping in in portraite? The right side of the page is cut off. only where the page number is. Does not matter at all. Thanks

Yes, I hope this is an improvement ! :)

No, I can't. Otherwise, where should all the columns be printed ?
This is why I did make new landscape forms.
The right side of the page is cut off. only where the page number is.
The forms are done for A4 paper size.
Which paper size are you using in Canada ?

We use the same paper .https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oQOR2C ... sp=sharing
the long sides of the paper are on the top and bottom, can you do them with them on the sides, with the boxes bigger?

Strange.
on my system, it looks correct.
Maybe the printing depends on Windows screen setup (with 150% bigger fonts, for example).
I will check that next week when I will be back home.
