2 Round Scoring

We ran a tournament with 2 round scoring from minimum start speed.

In this example, we have a division which starts scoring at 40kph. We put it in as the minimum speed but the program is still scoring from 28kph, which has affected the placings.

Is there another setting we need to change to make the scoring start from another speed?

Here it is, the problem division is o55 men, where the skier who came 4th should have come 2nd by 0.5 buoy.

1) the total of buoys should be counted from the overall minimum, which is 28.
There is no option to change that.

2) ...but it seems that is not the case, or wrongly calculate.

I will check the software and see what I can do.

Could you also check other categories:
if this does not work for O55, why does it (or maybe not) for other categories ?

Thanks for checking it up.

It only affected this division due to the skier missing his first pass in his first round, and missing the bonus buoys from running his first pass.

Actually, there is an option to calculate from overall base, overall base for australian overall O55 is 43kmh, and your starting speed is blelow that. ("Points from overall base" in Idividual classification setup of O45)
This makes the programm calculate this wrong with this option.

I will check further.

- one error was causing calculation to be wrong in some cases
- I have yet to find a solution to get the points to be counted from starting speed, without getting other competition results messed up...
I will see what I can do.
May be another option "Score from starting speed" where you can choose already between score/overall/points from overall base...

The other question, is why O55 ski at 40kmh when Australian rules specify 43kmh ?
With the correct starting speed (same as overall or above), you could use "Points from overall base".

Hi Emmanuel,

Thanks for letting me know. It was our state championships and because we don't require ratings to compete we score from 1 starting speed below the Australian start speed. However after realising this error maybe we might have to change?

I've tried changing the score format to "from overall base" just to see how it would adjust, but it doesn't change anything in the scores. Do I have to do something else to make sure it changes?

You would need to adjust the scores, that none is below 43 !
I am checking for possibility to get your classification correctly.

I just uploaded an update with the change.
This works without new option: you have to choose "Score" in classification mode, in Individual classification setup.
Number of buoys is now counted from the lowest min. slalom starting speed from all rounds.
Please, update and check all slalom results from all categories, and tell me if results are correct or not.

If you have the 2016 version, then you need to download the full version to install (download login and password is unchanged).
If you already have the 2017 version, updating from Waterski Scoring programm should work. (if not, please tell me).

Hi Emannuel

In a post above you suggested an option to score slalom based on the start speed. It would be excellent if this option could be provided.

Then when we print individual classifications we could show the number of buoys scored from the start speed. This is much more meaningful that showing the number of buoys from some low speed like 28 km.
